AI employee pricing in 2026: credits, seats, or a flat price

Almost every AI employee product now prices the same way: a plan, plus credits that meter how much AI work gets done. That is a fair way to pass on model costs, and it makes the monthly bill hard to predict. Here is how the main products price today, what a credit actually measures, and how to estimate your real cost before you sign.

the short version

  • Viktor, Lindy and Sintra all meter AI work in credits. Viktor and Lindy pool credits across a workspace; Sintra includes monthly credits for advanced actions.
  • Credits track model usage, so cost rises with how much and how often your AI employees work, including scheduled jobs.
  • To compare honestly, price a busy month, not the entry plan.
  • Insomnia Club does not meter at all: one monthly price, with the AI running on your own Claude plan.

01how the main products price today

ProductWhat you payWhat is meteredWorth knowing
ViktorFree plan with up to $100 in starting credits. Team is $100 a month for 40,000 shared credits, with tiers from $50 for 20,000.Credits, which Viktor describes as model costs passed through at costViktor estimates 100 to 300 credits for a quick task and 2,000 to 5,000 for a full project. Scheduled automations use credits. Unused credits roll over for one month.
LindyFree with $50 in credits for 7 days. Team is $49.99 a month for 5,000 credits, with larger tiers.CreditsLindy estimates 2 to 250 credits for an everyday ask and 1,000 to 2,500 for a big build. Monthly credits do not roll over, top-ups are $10 per 1,000, and credit-using actions pause if you run out.
SintraSintra X from $48.50 a month on a monthly plan, less on 3 and 12 month terms, or $39 a month for a single helper.250 monthly credits for advanced AI actionsCredits reset monthly and top-ups are available. Sintra is the cheapest to start of the three.
Insomnia ClubFrom $30k a month, including the app, an AI coach, experts and a full AI implementation.NothingThe AI runs on your own Claude plan from Anthropic. A job that runs every fifteen minutes costs the same as one that runs weekly.

Pricing checked on October 22, 2026 from each vendor's public pricing page: viktor.com/pricing, lindy.ai/pricing and sintra.ai/pricing. Prices change often, so check them before you decide.

02what a credit actually measures

A credit is a unit each vendor defines, and it usually stands in for model usage: the language model reads and writes tokens at every step, and calls tools along the way. Longer documents, more steps, bigger models and more frequent schedules all use more. That is why the same kind of task can cost 50 credits one day and 500 the next.

Viktor says this plainly: its credits are model costs passed through at cost, with no markup. That is an honest model. It just moves the forecasting work to you.

03how to estimate a real month

  1. List the jobs, not the features. A weekly ad review for six clients, daily inbox triage, a morning briefing, research on every new lead.
  2. Count the runs. A job on a fifteen-minute schedule runs about 2,880 times a month.
  3. Price each run at the vendor's own estimate, using the high end for anything that reads long documents or many pages.
  4. Add the month-end spike: reporting, billing and board prep weeks.
  5. Compare that number, not the entry plan price.

A worked example. Viktor's FAQ puts a quick Slack question at 50 to 100 credits. Even at 50 credits, a check that runs every fifteen minutes is about 144,000 credits a month, which is about $360 at Viktor's published rate of $2.50 per 1,000 credits, for one job. That is a fair price for the work. It is just not the $100 on the plan card.

04when credits are the right model

Credits are a good deal when usage is light or spiky: a small team that asks a few questions a day, or a project that runs for a month and stops. You pay for what you use and can start for little or nothing. They are a poor fit when AI employees run all day on schedules across the business, because the bill grows with exactly the behaviour you wanted.

05how Insomnia Club prices it

We chose not to meter. You pay one monthly price, from $30k, for the app with every AI employee in the library, an AI coach for you and your leadership team, a full AI implementation and the experts who run it. The AI itself runs on your own Claude subscription, billed by Anthropic at its plan price, with usage limits Anthropic sets. That is a bigger number to start than a $50 plan, and it is the same number every month.

common questions

How much does an AI employee cost per month?

Self-serve AI employee products start free or at roughly $15 to $100 a month, plus credits that rise with use, so a busy month can cost several times the entry price. Done-for-you options cost more up front: Insomnia Club starts at $30k a month with no credits, including an AI coach and a full AI implementation.

Why do AI employees use credits?

Credits pass the cost of the AI model through to you. Every step an AI employee takes reads and writes tokens, so vendors meter that usage in credits rather than absorbing it.

Do AI employee credits roll over?

It depends on the vendor. When we checked, Viktor rolled unused monthly credits over for one month, Lindy's monthly credits did not roll over, and Sintra's credits reset monthly. Check each pricing page for current terms.

Is there an AI employee without credits?

Yes. Insomnia Club does not meter its AI employees in credits or tokens. They run on your own Claude subscription from Anthropic, a monthly plan with usage limits, and Insomnia Club charges one monthly price.
